Our mission is Redemption, which is why I call my trainers and everyone who puts their dog through our training programs. The Redemption Crew.
I spent 30 years behind bars for shooting a very, very bad man–an act most said understandable and some said commendable, but which was nevertheless unfair, arbitrary, and against the law. I accepted my fate and did my time with Honor and Dignity. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Ohio University, taught myself guitar, helped others survive the system and prepare themselves for freedom, and worked in dog rescue programs for approximately ten years. I lived with trainers and dogs 24 hours a day for many years, learning from the best and working with dogs with severe mental and behavioral issues. It was a steep learning curve, but in helping these dogs find redemption, I found my own.

We have a newer dog who wasn’t great with commands and aggressive towards strangers. We signed Roger up for a two week training and they exceeded our expectations. He will never be a dog who is good with strangers (I’m not either lol), but we have learned the tools to slowly introduce and keep everyone safe. He now walks well on leash, comes with 1 command and is less reactive. Highly recommend!!
I can’t speak highly enough about Mid-Michigan K9 Academy!!! I was in a heartbreaking situation with my dog being aggressive to other dogs, and MMK9A was my last hope. They completely transformed Nala into a new dog. For 14 days, they sent me two videos (each day!) that showed Nala’s progress. With every day, and every video, i got to watch my dog improve, learn new commands, and build confidence. I just got back from my follow-up appointment, and Nala was so excited to see her trainers. Nala loves the MMK9A team, and you can tell! They treated her like their own.
Nala went from attacking other dogs, to a dog that looks to me before acting, listens to commands, and is able to interact with other dogs now. They changed Nala’s life, which changed my life. I will forever be thankful for what they have done for me and my girl!!!
